How long has acupuncture been practiced?  Scholars feel that it has been practiced for at least 5000 years. Originating in China it continues to grow. Geoff D’Arcy, Acupuncturist writes in his booklet A Simple Guide to Acupuncture, “From the mists of antiquity of Peking man humankind has tried to dispel pain and disease. Medicine that doesn’t work fades away. Acupuncture works and for the last 5,000 years has progressed. Acupuncture has enjoyed a resurgence in America since President Nixon’s visit to China in 1971.  Journalist James Reston, covering the visit, created a stir with his article on his own dramatic results using acupuncture for pain relief.”
